I’ve been a resident of Miami for all my life. We all know that there have been unbelievable acts of horror in this town, from gangland activity to disgruntled citizens.
Covering the violence in this city is not hard, from a content standpoint. I’ve had my work cut out for me for the better part of these last ten years, getting news and coverage of the terrible things in our town but I can see there is a lull in the carnage.
Since Mayor Bartlett took over the city governance in 2015, we’ve seen a steady decline in violent outbursts throughout the city and cultural, social, and economic growth has been on a rise.
What do we owe this fortune to? Is it Bartlett’s steadfast dedication to justice and his gangland task force or is this new era in peace and prosperity a short-lived blip on the radar of the streets of Miami?
There’s a new guard in town. How it turns out for the residents of Miami, I’m not sure yet, but signs point to a better future. Lets keep our hopes up but our heads on a swivel.
