A World of Darkness Chronicle

Anniversary of Oddities

June 1, 2020

The Museum le Macabre is holding its annual gala to celebrate it’s grand opening and to explore all of the fascinating and bizarre artwork it has acquired. One of the newest pieces, a twisted representation of crucifixion is being unveiled and I was given exclusive access to photograph and promote this unusual attraction.

Maryvonne Duchamp, the proprietor and artist-in-chief of the Museum le Macabre told me in a phone interview that the new display was a gift from an unknown artist who believes in the metamorphosis of the human condition.

As always, Duchamp was unavailable for a personal meeting but her assistant was more than happy to provide a tour of the work in progress. As much as it is inspiring and exciting, the grim work of the shrouded laborers made for a somber tour.

I’m excited to see the unveiling when it’s all said and done but I’m glad to be back in the relative comfort of the office. That place gives me the creeps, but then again, it’s supposed to.
